Tackling tough issues through design
Macon Sense is a series of conversations that explores the shape of Macon, Georgia, through different lenses of history. The first series focused on redlining, the discriminatory practice of denying resources, typically financial services, to people in specific locations.I was tasked with creating a logo that clearly demonstrates the speaking series is meant to be a welcoming and safe place for all to have difficult conversations, so we better understand our history and how we can take our knowledge to better today’s community. The speech balloon in the logo opens the door to discussion, while the historic Macon map overlaid with red represents the challenging topic.
