Designing a podcast logo with a purpose
Lectio Diversa, which means “Divine Reading” is a podcast focused on the practice of reading Scripture with different meditation practices. The play on words is meant to focus on the reading of Scripture but with diverse voices, including skeptics, the LGBTQ community, doubters, interfaith communities, marginalized individuals, and more. Ashley, the host of the podcast, wanted the logo to have some kind of nod to a book since the word Lectio translates to reading, and to include the color yellow because in classic art the heretics were always painted wearing yellow. The fun color palette stands out from other podcasts, and the lettering communicates how the subject matter is bold and unconventional.
“Erin is so intuitive that the process of creating a logo was seamless from start to finish. She listened to what I wanted, and then stretched my imagination with her design options.“ —Ashley Robinson, Host of Lectio Diversa Podcast
