Tanglewood Art Studios presents Postcards from Macon & Beyond, photography by Stephen Cook. Every photograph is more than a postcard—it’s a moment of connection. Below, Stephen shares the story behind this image, inviting you to look a little deeper.
Today, I paddled up the Ocmulgee River, watching as the sun lowered below the trees, which towered above me as I navigated the ancient carvings of water.
I think back to the other inspiring landscapes I’d explored, like the icy waters of Antarctica, a place that sits atop water exploration lore.
I’m reminded that terrain holds power, sometimes with imposing mountains and icebergs, other times with humming forests and gentle rivers.
Terrain, no matter its form, isn’t just the land we cross, it’s what shapes us.
From Macon, with perspective.
