Tanglewood Art Studios presents Postcards from Macon & Beyond, photography by Stephen Cook. Every photograph is more than a postcard—it’s a moment of connection. Below, Stephen shares the story behind this image, inviting you to look a little deeper.
I spent the morning at the cozy dining room table, enjoying the view of terra cotta rooftops rising over Venice’s famous canals. I readied myself for a day of exploration in this foreign city, yet at this moment, I felt like I was right back at home.
Although my view didn’t have much in common with Macon’s skyline, I was reminded that shelter is more than simple walls – it’s belonging, it’s familiarity, it’s peace, it’s a feeling. And that feeling can shrink large distances into a routine morning with coffee.
Sometimes you find home in unexpected places.
From Venice, with belonging.
